Before turning into a frantic maniac, Gorr was a relatively normal alien who loved and cherished his family like a normal person. But it all changed when the people on his grim planet started dying because of starvation while praying to the Gods to save them. While no Gods came to help his poor people, Gorr saw his wife and children starve to death along with his mother. The grief of losing his happy family pushed Gorr’s boundaries, and he started lashing out against the deities.

Gorr’s belief in the almighty was shaken after this unfortunate event, and he planned to enact his revenge by violent means. Worshipping Gods for so long meant a waste of time to Gorr as they failed to save so many innocent lives. Tormented by his loss, Gorr turned into an atheist with unorthodox beliefs and started telling his people to do the same. But Gorr was exiled by his people for denying the existence of Gods, and soon he started wandering into the wastelands.

So, if Gorr was an ordinary alien with no extraordinary powers, how did he manage to win so many battles against so many powerful Gods? That’s because Gorr gained his powers after witnessing a battle between two powerful Gods. Before that day, Gorr had no remarkable powers leaving aside his talent to torture and conduct a full-blown interrogation. During the battle of the Gods, Gorr came into the possession of All-Black, the Necrosword, an ancient weapon that helped him gain immortality, super strength, regeneration capabilities, and more.

Besides the powers, the Necrosword also lets Gorr the God Butcher create razor-sharp minions that he calls his army of Black Berserkers. However, there is always a loophole for a weakness with so many powers. Isn’t there? For Gorr, his biggest weakness happens to be the ancient weapon. All-Black is Gorr’s only source of power, so if he doesn’t have it, all of his strength will vanish. Besides his sword, Gorr is also big on self-loathing, so his self-consciousness also becomes his undoing in most cases.
