The main lead of Netflix hit series Henry Cavill is leaving The Witcher! He has confirmed to leave the show following season 3, last Saturday.
Based on the book series of the same name, The Witcher, is one of the most watched shows on Netflix. Released in the year 2019 by Lauren Schmidt, this fantasy drama gained instant popularity. The book was written by a polish writer Andrzej Spkowski.
After playing the role of Geralt of Rivia, the main protagonist of this series, for four long years, Cavill has finally decided to step down from the show, leaving his fans in total shock.

Why Henry Cavill Is Leaving The Witcher?
Last week Netflix broke the news about Henry Cavill leaving the show. And his role will be played by Liam Hemsworth. (Hunger Games) The news came in as a surprise. Though this is not the first time that a major character in any movie or series is being changed. But for the fans of The Witcher, it seemed a little hard to believe, knowing how hard Cavill worked to portray the character of ‘Geralt of Rivia’.
The casting news of Cavill to play Geralt of Rivia came on 18th September, 2018, selected from more than 200 actors. Being very passionate about his role, Cavil actively participated for its campaign. His amazing performance as the Geralt of Rivia won millions of hearts. No wonder this character is one of the most loved characters of Netflix’s’ shows.
But what caused him to step down from this character!
For now, there’s no clear reason as to why he has decided to leave the show. According to some sources, his return to the role of Superman for DC movies could be one of the reasons. It will be difficult for him to manage time for both the movies. But for some of his fans this reason doesn’t seem convincing.

In September,2021, Netflix renewed the series for the third season which is expected to be released mid-2023. And now Netflix has announced the fourth season of this mega hit series with the new face, Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.
