After looking at Wanda’s enormous powers in Multiverse Of Madness (2022), one must have wondered where were they when Vision was killed? Why couldn’t she save him if she was so powerful? How did Wanda become the Scarlet Witch? What triggered her to gain such dark powers? Too many questions and not many answers. Let’s change that. Shall we?

Played by Elizabeth Olsen in Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wanda Maximoff is an integral part of the Marvel universe and adapted from the comics themselves. The satanic witch first appeared in the 2012 Marvel movie Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), where she portrayed the role of a Sokovian refugee. Wanda was born with telekinetic powers, but they were amplified later because of the mind stone.

So, without dancing around the bush anymore, let’s get to the bottom of Wanda’s powers and find out when she turns into Scarlet Witch.

How Did Wanda Become The Scarlet Witch? Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff Turns Into The Big Marvel Evil!

Defeating Illuminati and killing almost every other character in Multiverse Of Madness is a big deal. But guess what? Wanda did it all with the snap of a finger. Wanda’s powers had gone up to such a level in the Multiverse Of Madness that Doctor Strange had to retreat to unconventional methods to bring her down. But the question remains when and how did Wanda become the Scarlet Witch?

Wanda’s Grief Turns Her Into The Scarlet Witch In MCU!

How Did Wanda Become The Scarlet Witch? Was Grief Enough To Amplify Wanda’s Powers?

Doctor Strange In Multiverse Of Madness is more than an average Marvel movie for the fans. Multiverse Of Madness has a horror undertone with a red color palette where you will find gory elements pop up on your screen every other second. Truly, the movie is a dream come true for many because it sees the naive little girl Wanda Maximoff turn into the Scarlet Witch.

The Darkhold’s prophecy about Wanda Maximoff has finally come true. Oh, you don’t know about the prophecy? Let me give you a quick breather. Darkhold contains answers to every unasked question in the MCU. After sensing Wanda’s chaos magic, Darkhold declares the prophecy – “The powers of Scarlet Witch will either be used to do good in this world, or she will use them to bring destruction.”

Wanda Losing Vision Was The Moment She Turned Into The Scarlet Witch!

How Did Wanda Become The Scarlet Witch? Was Grief Enough To Amplify Wanda’s Powers?

When Wanda first lost Vision to the fight with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), it was the beginning of the end for her. Losing Vision was what pushed her grief to the farther end and slowly started turning her into the witch. Ultimately her final fight with Agatha Harkness in WandaVision (2021) pushed her boundaries, and we saw Scarlet Witch in all her glory. Besides Darkhold, Agatha is the only person who senses the chaos within Wanda.

Agatha mentions the same to Wanda while explaining how the latter used it to create a magical hex where she could live with her kids. Though Wanda denies any of it initially, when Agatha snatches her powers, she falls weaker to her chaos and turns into the Scarlet Witch. After transforming into Scarlet entirely, Agatha declares the prophecy – “The Scarlet Witch is born. She is forged. The Scarlet Witch Has no coven; no need for incarnation. The Scarlet Witch’s powers exceed Sorcerer Supreme, and it is in her destiny to destroy the world.”

In the final moments of WandaVision, when Wanda turned into the Scarlet Witch, she was warned once again by Agatha of her powers. Wanda gained so much power that it was enough to bring destruction to the world even at that point. Imagine if she was so powerful without Darkhold in Wandavision, how much she had gained by dream walking in the Multiverse Of Madness

Final Words

Killing all the members of the Illuminati, destroying every sorcerer and the supreme in the entirety of Karl-Taj, and traveling through the multiverse is just a quick snap for the Scarlet Witch. If it was Wanda in her place, the events of Multiverse would have navigated in an entirely different direction.

For me, writing is something that helps me escape from reality for a while. Even though I am an Engineer, I find my comfort from chaos while I write. I love telling people about my stories, stories that play in my mind only. When I am writing, there is no limit to how far I can go swimming in this deep ocean of words. Reading and writing are the two things that help in organizing my messed up thoughts in a formative way. Come along on this journey with me as I write and you read the stories that I have to tell!
