Smokers often share pipes in groups, so it becomes extremely important to clean the pipes after every use.

Requirements: Dish soap, paper clip, plastic bag with zip lock, table salt, or Epsom salt, rubbing alcohol. (99% Isopropyl alcohol) 

Steps To Follow

  • Take the plastic zip lock bag and fill half of it with rubbing alcohol. 
  • Take your pipe and carefully place it in the bag. 
  • Add a tablespoon of regular table salt or epsom salt to the bag. 
  • Salt will act as a scrubber to clean the tiny areas in the pipe so ensure that you put an adequate amount of salt over the pipe. 
  • Let the pipe soak, in the bag for 7 to 8 hours. You can also keep the bag aside overnight. 
  • Once the soaking time is over, shake the bag vigorously so that the residual loosens up in the bag. 
  • After shaking, carefully remove the pipe from the bag and rinse it with hot water and dish soap. 
  • If you can still see resin particles in the pipe, try removing them using a tiny paper clip or a pipe cleaner. 
  • If you are afraid of scratching the pipe, you can try using a Q-tip in place of a paper clip. 
  • After you have cleaned the pipe and taken care of all the resin residue, you can rinse your pipe once again in hot water. 
  • Let the pipe dry in sunlight for a few hours and repeat the process once again if there is some dirt left.

  • Take your pipe and knock out the gunk pieces by tapping it lightly on a plain surface. 
  • You can also use a cotton swab to clean the gunk from the tiny areas in the pipe. 
  • Once done, rinse the pipe using warm water and follow the steps again. 
  • Now take a small pot and fill it with water. 
  • Place the pot on the stove and bring the water to boil for about 10 to 12 minutes. 
  • Take your pipe and submerge it in the water. 
  • Keep the pot on the stove, and don’t turn it off after submerging the pipe. 
  • Put the flame on low and let the pipe sit in the water for about fifteen minutes. 
  • Don’t let the pipe sit in the water for too long. Otherwise, it will begin to crack. 
  • After taking out the pipe, inspect for any gunk residue and if there is any, clean it using the cotton swab.

Steps To Follow 

  • Fill the Tupperware container with warm water and drop 2 to 3 denture tablets into it. 
  • Submerge your pipe into the solution and let it soak in the container for 1 to 2 hours. 
  • The fizzing from denture tablets will remove the gunk residue in an instant. 
  • After taking out the pipe, check if there is any residue left. 
  • If there is, take a cotton swab and use it to remove the gunk residue left.

  • After an hour, take out your pipe and rinse it under warm water.
