Those who have started playing with the cute farm animals in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, know that the game isn’t as simple as it looks. Completing new missions and acquiring random items is the most challenging part, especially the log stakes. If I had to make a guess, I’d say that each one of you has already asked your playmates, “How to get log stakes in Animal Crossing?” Am I right?
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the latest and the fifth main entry in the popular simulation games by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch edition. Animal Crossing revolves around the players controlling their character who ends up on a deserted island after receiving a getaway package from Tom Nook. With the help of the cute animals present in their surroundings, the players can do a lot, from customizing the island to creating a brand new community.
To customize your island and make it look pretty, a player needs to collect a long list of items. One of such items is the log stakes that are primarily used in constructing wooden bridges. The log stakes are a part of the log series in Animal Crossing and aren’t used for any other purposes other than decoration. Log stakes usually come in four different shades in the game – dark wood, white birch, orange wood, and white wood. So, how to get log stakes in Animal Crossing and make pretty crafts using them?
To find the log stakes in Animal Crossing, you have to scroll below to read the easy directions that will help complete your mission quickly.
How To Get Log Stakes In Animal Crossing? Engineer On Its Way To Construct Bridges!
The log stakes are ubiquitous in Animal Crossing. They are present everywhere in the game’s open world, but as you begin to take hold of the item, they disappear. If you think you can get them without searching, you haven’t understood the gameplay very well. The secret is that log stakes are crafted from the log woods in the game. So, to get a stake, first, you need to get your hands on the wood.
Crafting Log Stakes In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
When you are ready to build your first island bridge in the game, the DIY recipe for crafting log stakes will automatically pop on your gaming screens. In the DIY recipe, you will be asked to craft the log stakes by the river bench or inside the Resident Services.
DIY Recipe: Three normal pieces of wood will be required to make the log stakes. There are chances that you will have wooden pieces available in the inventory but don’t worry if you don’t have any because you can always whack a tree (not literally). If your inventory is out of wood stock, use a flimsy ax or a stone ax to get wood.
Step 1: Reaching The Workplace
What do you do when you are assigned some work? The answer is simple. You go to your workplace and start working right away. To start the crafting process, first, you need to head to your workbench. If you have set up a workbench at home, go there, but if you haven’t, you can use the bench at the Resident Services in the fun Nintendo game.
Step 2: The Crafting Begins
Now, move to the workbench crafting menu and tap on the Housewares tab menu. From there, you can select the log stakes. Now, tap on ‘Craft it’ to make the log stakes, using the wood if you have it. Suppose you need 10 log stakes, so you have to tap on the option 10 times to craft the required number of stakes.
Using Log Stakes To Build Your First Bridge
There is not much you can do with the log stakes other than building a bridge. By the time you have made enough progress, you will be given the task of building three bonus houses on the island. To access the space for making the houses, you will need to make the bridge using the log stakes to move across the far different areas on the island. You can use the Bridge Construction Kit from Tom to make the bridge. The kit contains four log stakes, four stones, and four clay.
Decorating The Island Using Different Log Stakes
Apart from constructing a bridge, you can also use log stakes to decorate your island. Once you have unlocked the customization feature, also known as customizing DIY items in the game, you can customize the dark wood shade into orange, white birch, and white wood. After customization, you can use them to decorate different areas on your island.
Log stakes are the most helpful for creating bridges in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, the players should remember that once they have constructed their first bridge, they will be required to pay for the construction cost instead of following the crafting process.
