How To Remove Spray Paint From Your Hands Or Skin? No More Colorful Hands

How To Remove Spray Paint?

For those who are artsy and creative, spray paint is a good product to use since it’s quick and dries fast. However, accidents can happen, and you may end up getting spray paint on your hands or somewhere else on your skin. The best way to remove spray paint from your skin will be to wash it immediately.

It helps to know whether the paint is water-based or oil-based. For that, you may check the container. If it’s water-based, apply some dishwashing soap over the area and rub it gently until you feel the paint coming off. Rinse your skin with water to remove the remaining part.

If simply rubbing doesn’t work, get a soft towel and gently rub the affected area for a few minutes. Alternatively, you can use a soft brush too.

If the spray paint is oil-based, then grab some oil from the kitchen and massage it over your hands or the skin affected by the spray paint. Let it absorb for a couple of minutes. Then rinse with water. If you feel it still hasn’t fully worked, repeat it for the second time.

How To Remove Spray Paint From Clothes? Don’t Let Them Stain Forever!

How To Remove Spray Paint?

You were sprayed painting your bookshelf with your favorite color but got it onto your clothes as well. Now what?

Quickly run to the bathroom and put the affected area of your clothes under running water. DO NOT rub it. That will drive the paint particles into the clothing fabric. Wait until you see the water has run clear, then rinse off the remaining paint. You can use any dishwashing soap to get the rest of the paint out, which should work like a charm.

If the paint has dried out and you found out too late, first scrape off the dried bits. Then soak it in some nail polish remover. If you don’t have that available at home, try hair spray. Any alcohol-based product will do.

Let it settle for a bit, then run it through some water and repeat the same process the second time if there is some residue left.

How To Remove Spray Paint From Shoes? Keep Them Fresh And Crisp and Away From Danger

How To Remove Spray Paint?

Like getting the paint on your clothes is possible, so is getting the paint over your shoes. The important thing here is how quickly you see it and what you do about it.

If you have spray paint on your shoes, the best way to remove it will be to put the affected area of your shoes underwater. Again, DO NOT rub it just yet. Doing that will push the paint into the shoes and make it harder to get out. Dab some alcohol-based solution over the shoes and let it soak for a bit. Wipe it with a soft cloth. It will be easier to do if the paint is fresh.

If you’ve caught it quite late, repeat the same process as above but use a more pure form of alcohol or some paint thinner. Remember to use a scraper or a plastic knife to remove the dried bits first.

How To Remove Spray Paint From A Car? How To Save Your Precious Ride

How To Remove Spray Paint?

This one is probably the worst. How badly affected your car is will depend on how you got the spray paint on it. If it’s an accidental overspray the damage is likely to be less, but if someone did on purpose to you then, it’s a matter of luck whether you can salvage it yourself or need to get detailed help.

Grab a microfiber towel and put some isopropyl alcohol or nail polish remover on it. (Note: Don’t pour it directly onto your car, you only want it to work on the painted area) Hold the towel over the spray paint for some time, so it loosens a bit. Then scrub it. Use gentle strokes so as not to damage the paint underneath.

The paint should slowly start to come off. Keep repeating until you see nothing left, and then wash your car with water.

If you have spray paint on the plastic bits of your car or the chrome grilling, you can first try using the same solutions again. In case these don’t work you will need commercially made wax that is made specifically for the purpose of paint removal.  This can easily be found at your local car cleaner’s workshop.

If the damage is too much, I suggest taking help from professional car cleaners as they have automated pressure washers that will do the trick. Getting thick coats of paint off from a car will not be easy and cannot possibly be done at home without causing damage to the paint of the car underneath. It’s better to get the job done by experts in this situation.
