Is Keeping Up With The Kardashians Scripted?
As far as we know, there has been no official evidence about the whole show being scripted. So, is Keeping Up With The Kardashians scripted, or are parts of the show staged to some extent.
Upon asking about the reality o the show, Kim Kardashian had once stated that we were scared of sharing things in real-time after a robbery incident in 2016. She also stated that we do not mind sharing things regarding our private lives, however, some things are supposed to be private and in the family.
Fans also speculated reshoots during the proposal of Travis and Kourtney, as Kris’s calls were showing a later date while the incident was supposed to be set in October 2021. Some crew members have said that the members actually shoot at different times depending on their availability, and at times they do not shoot together, which affirms the fact that they do reshoot their parts.
However, reshooting and staging an incident are completely different things. One of the show’s producers have stated in 2014 that some of the incidents related to Kim and her first husband were reshot and edited for the dramatization of the show. Multiple incidents have been edited for the sake of creating drama or shock value. However, whether reshooting for the sake of creative liberty can be considered staging or not is totally up to the viewers.
If not every incident is being reshot, and not everything is being edited to the point that it does not present what happened then it does not matter whether the show is being edited or not. There are enough elements of truth in the show, and that is what makes it an amazing reality TV show.
