Is Wakanda A Real Place? The Truth Of Black Panther’s Origins!

No, Vibranium is not a real element in reality. Vibranium is a fictional metal that first appeared in the Marvel comics and became popular because of its extraordinary abilities to release, absorb and store infinite amounts of kinetic energy. In the Marvel universe, Vibranium is only known to exist in Wakanda, and because of that, it is closely associated with Black Panther.

Other than Black Panther, Captain America is the only other hero known in the universe to yield a weapon made from Vibranium. Yes, folks, you guessed it right. The weapon is nothing but Captain America’s shield. Marvel comics also created an isomer of the metal known as Antarctic Vibranium or Anti-Metal to make things more interesting in the future. Anti-Metal was discovered in the Savage Land (a fictional place in Antarctica) and is a part of the X-Men universe.

According to various media sources and the director himself, the beautiful nation of Wakanda was inspired by Lesotho (located in South Africa). The fictional land of Wakanda, created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, made its first appearance in the Fantastic 4 movie (1966).

Ever since then, Wakanda has secured a favorite place amongst the admirers of Marvel and has appeared in various other works of the franchise. Wakanda has appeared in different movies like Avengers: Endgame (2019), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Captain America: Civil War (2016), and has been a big help to the immortal superheroes every time. Even though Wakanda’s location keeps changing in various marvel comics, its importance has never been deferred.

What’s More To Wakanda? The Legend Of The Panther Cult!

Known to switch locations between the northern side of Tanzania and Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, Wakanda serves as a home to various fans who devoted their lives to the Heliopolitan Gods and Goddesses. These Heliopolitan Gods emerged during the era of Pharaohs in Egypt and followed the legacy of various cult groups like the Panthers (Black Panther) and the White Gorilla (M’Baku).

Black Panthers and White Gorillas aren’t believed to be real. They are only a part of Marvel’s fictional reality and are meant to stay in the comics and the cinematic universe. The presence of Vibranium in Wakanda helped both of these cult groups emerge powerfully and affected the mutation rate of the Wakandans. Due to increased radiations, Wakandas are born with powerful instincts, which they can later enhance by consuming a heart-shaped herb.

For me, writing is something that helps me escape from reality for a while. Even though I am an Engineer, I find my comfort from chaos while I write. I love telling people about my stories, stories that play in my mind only. When I am writing, there is no limit to how far I can go swimming in this deep ocean of words. Reading and writing are the two things that help in organizing my messed up thoughts in a formative way. Come along on this journey with me as I write and you read the stories that I have to tell!
