1# The Conjuring (2013)

If you are looking for jump scare movies on Netflix, should not The Conjuring be your first choice? Damn well. It should be! Ever since its release, there not enough horror movies have been made that can give competition to this scary flick. With its scary twists and an unexpected storyline, The Conjuring started an entirely new universe of ghosts and the paranormal.

When the Perron family starts experiencing paranormal in their new farmhouse, they call Ed and Lorraine Warren, the demonologists for help. The Conjuring is a slow-burn horror movie that will make you jump and scream at the most unexpected times.

2# Insidious (2010)

Shouldn’t we all be calling Patrick Wilson the king of jump-scare movies on Netflix? Not only did he nail his role in The Conjuring, but he tuned every other star in Insidious with his impressive skills. Considered to be one of the greatest horror movies of all time, Insidious started the trend of “families experiencing paranormal after moving for a fresh start.” James Wan makes sure to stun everyone with his creepy sense of style in this film.

Josh and Renai move to a new house with their son Dalton to welcome fresh beginnings but are left devastated when their son falls into a coma. Moments later, things change for the family when a hurricane of paranormal activities starts to unload in their lives.

3# Crimson Peak (2015)

Tom Hiddleston in a dark gothic fantasy is what everyone who loves the horror genre should see. Keeping my infatuation with Marvel’s Loki aside, the film screams horror and is an underrated gem that many of us haven’t discovered yet. Crimson Peak is exactly the type of jump-scare horror movie you need when you want to take a break from watching all the feel-good films.

You will start screaming the moment you fall headfirst into the movie. There is a newly married, a blurry vision of ghosts, a marriage on the line, and a sister-in-law who treats you with utmost disdain. What else do you need?

4# His House (2020)

Jump-scare movies on Netflix like His House deserve to be overhyped. From a long list of films that have been released in recent times, His House is one of the few with the capability to keep the viewers hooked till the very end. A touchy subject with a gory storyline is what keeps the show going.

When a refugee couple leaves a war-torn South Sudan and makes their way to an English town, the future starts to look hopeful to them. However, they realize adapting will be tough when they step into the new boundaries, especially when evil is lurking away in the darkness.

Charlotte, better known as the troubled musical prodigy, returns to the prestigious musical school after her mysterious disappearance. As she is getting settled, she finds out that another music pupil Lizzie has taken over her place.
