1# The Little Mermaid (1989)

1# The Little Mermaid - 1989 : Mermaid Movies On Netflix

I am 100% sure that each of us came to know about the existence of mermaids through the Disney movie The Little Mermaid. This is the one movie that made Ariel the famous princess she is today and helped her meet the love of her life, Prince Eric. We may have failed to understand the depth of this movie in our childhoods, but as we grew up, we released what it wanted to teach us.

The moral of this story was to teach us that “Loving someone comes with a lot of sacrifices, and if you want to keep them happy and have your happily ever after, you must accept them with open arms.” Ariel loved Eric, and in her love, she left behind her mermaid life to start living with Eric as a human.

3# The Mermaid (2016)

3# The Mermaid - 2016

Mermaids are always considered beautiful creatures harassed or manipulated by humans for petty reasons, right? However, this movie turns the tables for the audience where we see Shan, the mermaid plotting her revenge against the humans. A mermaid going against humans is a sight that cannot be missed, and perhaps that was the reason behind the film’s blockbuster performance at the box office.

Shan, the mermaid, travels to China to help her family members who are left to live in devastating conditions because of a rich man’s company. The plan is to seduce the businessman, make him fall in love and then kill him, but the mermaid ends up falling for him instead. This is where the movie turns out to be a romantic action-adventure rather than a rom-com.

Splash is a perfect choice for you if you would love to enjoy a Tom Hanks movie. The plot of the film revolves around the same old theory. A man meets a beautiful, gorgeous, and intriguing woman and starts falling for her. Only in the middle of the movie, it’s found that she is a mermaid.

9# The Thirteenth Year (1999)

How would you react if you started turning into an aquatic creature, especially a mermaid, after your thirteenth birthday? If I were in this situation, I’d be running in the neighborhood while shouting profanities at everyone coming in my way. Relax guys!! This wouldn’t be happening unless you were a mermaid’s secret love child abandoned when you were a baby.

The comedy movie The Thirteenth Year revolves around a plot similar to my imagination. Cody is a normal boy approaching adolescence. However, things begin to change when Cody crosses the thirteen birthday mark and grows scales when his skin is wet. As rapid changes are observed in Cody, his girlfriend and best friend realize that Cody is turning into a mermaid.

I love telling people about my stories, stories that play in my mind only. When I am writing, there is no limit to how far I can go swimming in this deep ocean of words. Reading and writing are the two things that help in organizing my messed up thoughts in a formative way. Come along on this journey with me as I write and you read the stories that I have to tell!
