Summer is here in the land down south, and we can’t wait to dip our feet in cool water with drinks in our hands!
While summers can be very sweaty and clammy, this is the best time to whip up those fruits in your refrigerator and make a smoothie or two! Given below are some refreshing drinks to rejuvenate yourself with this heat.
Amazing Drinks To Hydrate This Summer | Follow The Recipe
1# Coconut Margarita
This is a refreshing combination of coconut infused with a bit of tequila! You’ll need around an ounce of tequila, ½ cup Triple Sec, ½ cup lime juice, 1 cup cream of coconut (not coconut cream!), and sweetened shredded coconut for the glass rim.
You can also add ice cubes to make it more refreshing. Simply throw these ingredients (except the shredded coconut) in a pitcher, blend, and enjoy! As for the rim, you can use the cream of coconut as an adhesive for the shredded coconuts to stick to. There you go, your perfect margarita on a hot day!
For all the tea lovers out there, this one is for you! Kombucha isn’t just your regular iced tea. It’s made by adding SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) to brewed tea. This adds fizz to the drink, and you can always experiment by adding some fresh fruits.
3# Strawberry Gin & Tonic
We all know gin and tonic, a combination that never goes wrong. But strawberry gin and tonic is an upgrade from that!
Take 1-1.5 ounces of gin, ½ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, ½ ounce strawberry syrup, a dash of orange bitters, 4-5 ounces of premium tonic water, and a strawberry for garnishing. In your favorite glass, put ice cubes and pour gin, lime juice, strawberry syrup, and bitters.
Next, stir this well and add the tonic water slowly. Once you’re satisfied with the mixture, add your strawberry as a garnish, and voila!
4# Roasted Pina Colada
If you can upgrade your gin and tonic recipe, why not do the same with pina colada? When you add pineapples to the drink, add roasted ones instead of the usual pineapples.
You’ll notice how the tanginess of the pineapples gets replaced with the sweetness of roasted caramel and how much better your drink tastes.
5# Strawberry & Oange Spritz
This is another refreshing homemade drink you can make easily. For the strawberry and orange syrup, place some strawberries and sugar in a bowl and keep tossing them. Cover and refrigerate this for 2 days, stirring it once a day. Add some vinegar and orange zest and refrigerate again.
After a week, strain the mixture till it’s ready to use. To make the spritz, combine 15 ml of this mixture with some vodka, rosewater, and prosecco in a glass with ice cubes. Keep stirring till you’re satisfied, and add an orange peel as decoration!
6# Super-Seed Smoothie
For your little ones, this smoothie is perfect during breakfast. Simply blend some yogurt, berries, bananas, and milk. Add a cherry or two on top to make it look yummier, and watch with joy as your children slurp it in one go!
7# Love Potion
Sounds incredible, isn’t it? It tastes incredible too! All you need are watermelons, pineapples, and a little bit of chili.
All these items are thought to be aphrodisiacs, hence the stylish name. This juice also contains a lot of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, so it’s not only a love potion but a health potion too!
8# Green Morning Juice
If you feel sluggish after a bad hangover, this is just the right juice for you. Take 3 celery sticks, ¼ cucumber, 4 apples, ½ lemon juice, ⅓ cup mint leaves, and ⅓ cup parsley leaves. Blend all of this until smooth and you’re done!
9# Mango-Orange Juice
Sounds boring but tastes heavenly! Squeeze the juice out of 4 oranges and take one chopped mango. Whizz all of this until you see a smooth orangy pulp, and chill it in the fridge. This takes just 5 minutes to make and keeps you hydrated all day.
Did you know that Australia is heating more rapidly than the global average, with a tremendous rise of 4 degrees C by 2100? So it comes as no surprise that December to February can be unbearable in some parts of the southern hemisphere.
But with these drinks available to keep you fresh and hydrated, you’ll find it easier to beat the heat. So take out your blender and start making them now!
