So, you must be wondering what is the first sequence going to be about. Well, the first scene revolves around Sarah, Joel, and Tommy going out of their town in search of a place of safety in the face of the Cordyceps outbreak. 

However, on the way, they get into a car crash that ends up wounding Sarah’s leg and also restricts her movement completely. Even after that, they try to escape the people who are infected. On their way, they are saved by a soldier, but later the same soldier is ordered to finish them. 

Joel tries to reason with the soldier, but his efforts go in vain. Just as the soldier is going to kill Joel, he is shot by Tommy. Sarah, too ends up getting shot in her abdomen and breathes her last in Joel’s arms. 

Fans already got to see snippets of the heartwarming relationship between Joel and Srah pre-outbreak, thanks to the photos taken from the HBO series. But now that Sarah’s fate has been put out for the world to see, fans can expect to see more of her history unravel in front of them. In the coming episodes of the series, they can learn more about the kind of character Sarah was before she met died a tragic death.
