The Ultimate International Travel Checklist!

10 Things You Should Always Double-Check Before International Travel!

Whether you are planning a vacation with your friends or family, international travel comes with much-added stress. If traveling domestically, we don’t have to worry much about the stuff we forgot to pack or something that slipped our mind because we know we will be able to get it from one place or the other. But things change when you travel internationally.

Are people helpful? Yes!. But how do you expect them to help you out if you have forgotten your Aadhaar card? Proving your identity in a different country, with a different spoken language, might be a difficult situation. So, to make sure that you avoid landing yourself in one of those, tick mark our international travel checklist and get going.

#1 Passport And Other Identification Proofs

The first and foremost travel essential is an updated passport and extra identification proof, because you won’t be traveling far if you forget or lose your passport while traveling internationally.

If traveling domestically, you can use other identification proof, such as the Aadhaar card. But, one thing to keep in mind is to make sure to link Aadhaar to PAN card, as it is mandatory for every Indian citizen. And if you are already done with the linking, make sure to check your status on the official website of the Income Tax Department of India.

#2 Approved Visa

Since you cannot travel internationally without an approved visa, we assume that this is just you double-checking on it. You cannot make an international travel plan till your visa is approved.

Many countries offer visas on arrival, so if you are traveling to one of those, you don’t have to worry about anything other than carrying valid documents. To make sure you have all the available documents, check for the visa requirements of your desired country.

#3 Universal Travel Adapter

Trust us, this is the worst thing you could forget. Get yourself a reliable Universal travel adapter. Many countries have differently shaped charging adapters and sockets, which might be compatible with your device. So, to make sure you capture every nook and corner and still not get lost, get yourself a power bank and a universal travel adapter.

#4 Medications And Prescriptions

You do not want to be going on an international trip and sitting in your room because your allergies started acting up. So, make sure you carry all your approved medications with you while traveling internally.

Also, if you are on some illegally prescribed drugs, make sure to carry a valid prescription, as some countries do a thorough check on your drugs and medications to make sure you are not doing anything the Narcos way.

#5 Travel Insurance

You don’t ever wish to be sick or injured while on holiday, but precaution is better than cure. So get yourself a travel insurance that will cater to your basic unplanned and unforeseen medical expenses.

#6 Debit Card And Credit Card

Money is obviously very important for travel. So, other than some money in cash, make sure you carry your global debit and credit card. If you do not already have a global card, get yourself one as you might get some good shopping discounts abroad which won’t be valid if you pay in cash.

#7 A Sturdy Cabin Bag

Depending on what you will be carrying on the plane, plan to pack all your travel essentials in a sturdy cabin. Don’t go for the cheaper version of a good product, as it might need you stranded at the airport.

They easily lose or break a tire, or worse; the zip could come off. And you do not want to stand in the middle of the airport with a broken bag. So, make sure you invest in a good cabin bag that is durable enough to be carried and thrown around at the airport.

#8 A Durable Backpack Or Tote

To make sure you always have your passport, documents, and travel essentials on the go, get yourself a durable sling, backpack, or tote. This way, you can carry your documents and hard copies without rolling or folding the documents.

#9 Spare Clothing And Socks

If you are in for a long flight, make sure you carry a pair of spare clothing. If traveling to a cold region, get yourself a jacket and other warm clothing to make sure you don’t end up freezing yourself in the cold.

#10 Essential Toiletries

To make sure your skin doesn’t suffer while you hop onto one adventure after the other, carry some hydrating creams and moisturizers. The air in the plane is dry, and it makes your skin lose moisture, so make sure to not let that happen.

Final Words

Okay, Folks! This was all about everything to need to tick off of your list before heading on to your international travel destination. Have fun and make sure to have the best time of your life. Happy journey.
