Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is exactly what the title says. As Marvel fans know him, Stephen Strange is in a massive mess of inter-multiverse chaos. So as the movie hit the theatres, those who haven’t watched it yet have asked who died in Multiverse Of Madness?

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gave us new characters from other universes. We get to meet America Chavez, who is running away from her original universe to save her life. We see many different variants of Dr. Strange, and honestly, at one point, we even lost count of the versions we see of him.

The Scarlett Witch/Wanda
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw a crazy twist right from the word get-go. Wanda is introduced as the main villain in the movie, and her powers are insane. Standing true to Benedict Wong’s prophecy – Wanda will either rule all of the multiverses or destroy them. After going on a killing rampage throughout the movie, she comes back to her senses. And in the act of redemption, she sacrifices herself to destroy the Wundagore Castle and the Darkhold. All that is left of Wanda is red smoke, and according to the film’s writer, her status as alive or dead is open to interpretation.
The Darkhold
The evil book that is The Darkhold is the source of all evil through all the multiverses. The climax of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees The Scarlett Witch destroy it too. The Darkhold of 616 is destroyed, but it is wiped out from all the multiverses. The book and its evil are the good kinds of death in the movie.
The Wundagore Mountain Demons
The creepy characters in the Wundagore Mountains are demons. They pledge their services to Wanda in the movie and will do anything to ascend the throne to rule the multiverse. The demons also serve Chthon and his army. As Wong and Dr. Strange arrive, they kill all the demons to stop Wanda from wrecking more havoc.
Defender Strange
As we meet America Chavez, we also meet a version of Dr. Strange that wants to protect her. Thus the name Defender Strange. The two enter the current earth being chased by unknown monsters, and as the duo is about to get away, Defender Strange is caught. He is stabbed and killed, and we see his body float into the abyss of the multiverse.
Gargantos
Gargantos is a one-eyed multi-tentacled monster who has traversed multiverses to kill America Chavez. So when it ends up on the original earth, Wong and Dr. Strange engage with it in a battle. They manage to poke his eye, which seems to give it life, and successfully kill it. Gargantos isn’t someone who died in Multiverse Of Madness and made anyone sad. Its death is good riddance for everyone!
The Entirety Of Kamar-Taj Sorcerers
Wanda establishes herself as the antagonist in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, she demands America Chavez. When Dr. Strange refuses to hand her over, Wanda unleashes her anger on the entirety of Kamar-Taj. While all the members try and fight against The Scarlett Witch, she overpowers them with ease. All of them end up dead. That’s not to say no sorcerer is alive anymore (Wong is, don’t worry), but the vast majority is dead.
Thanos
But wasn’t Thanos dead in Avengers: Endgame? Why yes, he did. But, when counting who died in Multiverse Of Madness, Thanos needs to be mentioned too. As in one of Professor X’s visions with Doctor Strange, we see Thanos die on the planet Titan. The event happens in the reality of Earth-838, so technicality he did in the movie (again.)
Strange Supreme
He is the version of Stephen Strange that founded the Illuminati and manipulated the powers of The Darkhold. His actions decimated the entirety of his reality, and we see him die on Titan, too. In one of the scenes, the original Dr. Strange can be seen admiring a statue of Strange Supreme. What could have been if the bad hadn’t overpowered the good!
The Ultron Army
In the same universe where Illuminati exists, Wanda seems to be looking for America Chavez. The Ultron Army and other Iron Man-type autonomous robots put up a fight against her. Her powers have grown so strong that she easily dismantles the whole army without even breaking a sweat.
Black Bolt
Wanda hunts down Illuminati’s own Army and personnel on Earth-838. The first victim of her wrath becomes the army leader Black Bolt. Wanda pops his head open, and the death is brutal, to say the least.
Mister Fantastic
Now that was a crossover we didn’t think we needed, but the rumors were true after all. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees John Krasinski star as the Mister Fantastic. He warns Wanda about the threats of Black Bolt and the Illuminati Army. So Wanda should be thanking him, right? Wrong! Wanda ends up killing Mister Fantastic first before moving on to Earth-838.
Captain Marvel
The Illuminati compound on Earth-838 sees one of the most insane battles in the movie. Captain Marvel, played by Lashana Lynch, wants to stop Wanda at any cost. But she, unfortunately, meets the same fat as Mister Fantastic. Wanda is too overpowerful and crushes Captain Marvel under a statue in the compound.
Sinister Strange
Benedict Cumberbatch played the role of another version of Dr. Strange besides Defender Strange and Supreme Strange. Sinister Strange is a three-eyed evil version of Strange who was able to harness the powers of The Darkhold. He dies in an epic battle with the MCU Dr. Strange.
