The documents would convince them that the attacks are targeted at Greece instead of Sicily. 

So, the Allies attacked Sicily hoping their plan had worked and they had successfully filled the Germans. Operation Mincemeat was formed on the basis of the Trout Memo, which consists of various military deception techniques. It was created by Admiral John Godfrey and Ian Fleming, his faithful assistant.
