In 1830 he visits the U.S. Military Academy in West Point to investigate an unusual murder case. After reaching the crime scene, he finds a young cadet’s body hanging from a rope. Now, from a civilian’s point of view, it might look like a suicide, but Landor suspects it to be something more.
Soon, everyone gets a bigger shock, and things take a different turn when they discover that the young cadet’s heart has been removed very skillfully from the body. Landor becomes determined to find the truth and asks one of the other cadets named Edgar Allen Poe played by Harry Melling to assist him in the investigation.
