Randall, on returning home, gives the present to Billy. And mentions the three rules that he has to keep in mind regarding the mogwai. The rules are: to keep the mogwai away from water, not feed it after midnight, and not turn on bright lights. But Billy unintentionally breaks the three simple rules. Soon, his pet mogwai or which is commonly called a Gremlin, along with a bunch of other gremlins, wreak havoc on Christmas eve in the small town of Kingston Falls.
