The story of Run Rabbit Run revolves around Sarah, played by Sarah Snook. Sarah is a divorced fertility doctor who lives with Mia, her daughter. Mia finds a rabbit outside her house and keeps it as her pet. Soon, she begins to get attached to the rabbit. 

On her 7th birthday, her father, Peter, visits and brings his new wife, Denise, and 3-year-old son, Toby. While playing, Toby hits Mia on her head, which upsets Sarah, and she asks them to leave.

As Mia grows more fond of the rabbit, Sarah tries to get rid of it. But her daughter caught her in the act. Within a few days of the incident, she noticed a change in her daughter’s behavior. As Mia’s behavior becomes unpredictable, Sarah starts to hallucinate. She questions her own beliefs and faces a ghost from her past.
