Kira, while deciding what to do, notices a bunch of children from the school that her uncle built. And the beautiful animals roaming around freely convinced her to take the right decision. After a few days, she comes across Tom, a safari ranger with whom she gets along really well. 

Eventually, things go haywire when her boyfriend from Chicago arrives out of the blue and tries to make a deal regarding the Reserve behind her back. Kira is forced to make a choice between her love life and her father’s Reserve.

The mesmerizing wildlife reserve that we witness in the movie, which is inherited by Kira, is in reality the Bookers Wildlife Reserve located in Johannesburg.  Lacey Shabert who played the character of Kira, on interview mentioned her whole experience at the Reserve while shooting the film.

She claimed that her experience was incredible as she was lucky to get a chance to be so close to nature and all the animals that were there. She also went on to talk about the people whom she met there and claimed how kind, good-hearted, and welcoming they were. At the end of the interview, she concluded by saying that it was a dream come true spending all those days at the Reserve.

Later, it was reported that other actors and the whole production team also had an amazing time shooting the film at this exotic location.

Glen Afric Country Lodge, Hartbeespoort | South Africa

This renowned lodge is another filming location of the romantic drama movie, Love On Safari. The Glen Afric Country Lodge is located close to Johannesburg. It only takes around 40 minutes to reach Glen Afric Country Lodge from Johannesburg. 

The main attraction of the Lodge is elephant interactions, you can literally feed them, pat them, and even with permission can ride them. You can also go on an adventure drive along with the safari rangers and witness animals of different kinds in their own natural habitat and territories. You also have the option to simply sit back and relax while enjoying the flora and fauna. 

Other than Glen Afric Country Lodge, a few other scenes were shot in another spot. The Leopard Lodge is also quite popular in Hartbeespoort where a handful of scenes were filmed.

Bela Bela | South Africa 

Bela Bela is a town located in the Limpopo Province of South Africa and is known for its animal sanctuaries. One of the elephant sanctuaries in the town was used for filming. The scenes where Kira interacts with her favorite big animals were shot here. 

This sanctuary is situated just a few kilometers from Pretoria, the capital of South Africa. This is the perfect place for a family vacation. You can relax and spend some quality time in the lap of nature and also spend some time with the majestic elephants.
