The director of Power Rangers was stuck in a dilemma during the initial stages of production. Dean couldn’t decide whether to change the entire concept of the film or continue the story from the second version of the movie. The director wanted to present a new and authentic story to the audience, so before arriving at the final decision, he arranged a special meeting with the screenplay writers. The creative heads then decided to exclude certain elements from the original story.
At the same time, a number of new and interesting plot twists were included to make the overall storyline more intriguing. Right after the script was written, the director and a couple of other members of his team started looking for shooting locations. Even though the story of Power Rangers is based in America, the director thought it would be a good idea to shoot the outdoor scenes in Canada. Since the majority of the production budget was being spent on CGI, VFX and other modern filming techniques, Dean decided to use less expensive filming locations.
