One day he received a Christmas card from an unknown person for his service to America, which made him feel a little better amidst all the chaos of the war.

When he returns to America from Afghanistan he visits a smalltown in California from where he received that letter. After meeting a few people in the town, while leaving, he comes across Faith Spellman, played by Alice Evans, and finds out that it was her who sent that card to him. Eventually, Cody falls in love with her knowing that she is engaged.
