Atlanta, Georgia

The most parts of Cobra Kai have been filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. If you live anywhere in Atlanta, you may already have recognized several filming locations from the show. For example, the Crossroads Shopping Center in Atlanta was featured in the Cobra Kai dojo. But there’s also a chance you wouldn’t have recognized this place because as soon as the filming is done, the crew removes signs even remotely related to the show.

Also, another major chunk of the show’s filming took place in the show’s production studio. The name of that studio hasn’t been discovered yet. It’s been kept secret purposefully, though–making it public might put the crew members and actors at risk.

Apart from studios, the production unit has also used other local areas for filming, like Lithia Springs High School, which is located in Georgia. The same was confirmed via Instagram photos of the crew members.

Okinawa, Japan

Karate Kid Part 2 was originally decided to be filmed here. But then the production unit decided to film the movie in Hawaii. They did this to cut filming costs and also because staying in the US proved to be easier than going to Japan.

Okumoto and Tomita from Karate Kid part 2 reprised their roles in Cobra Kai. And the production companies involved in this one decided to go to Okinawa and film there for a week or so. So, parts of Season 3 were filmed in Japan. But scenes that included Kumiko were actually filmed in Atlanta only, with the latter being made to resemble Okinawa.

Los Angeles, California

Several locations in California were used in the filming of Cobra Kai. For example, Daniel’s old South Seas apartment complex and other outside shots of it. But the apartment courtyard and Miguel’s apartment were actually filmed on a sound stage located in Georgia.

Apart from that, the outside car scenes that you see in Cobra Kai were filmed in California as well.
