Where Was Dungeons & Dragons Filmed? Let’s Know This Action Fantasy Flick Closely!
The story of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is set in and around the fictional world of “The Realm”. Thus in order to depict this fictional location, Goldstein and Daley decided to shoot the entire movie in and around Northern Ireland during the initial stages.
However, it’s also important to mention that some sequences of this action comedy flick were also captured in some parts of Iceland. Right after the directors selected the filming locations after visiting them in person, they sent the production members to the specific locations to acquire filming permissions.
Soon after, the production members were divided into two separate groups and were sent to Ireland and Iceland to acquire shooting permission. The filming crew also transported the majority of the logistics even before the shooting began.
Finally, the principal photography commenced. The first filming phase began in Iceland between the second and third week of April 2021. Later the production members moved to Northern Ireland to complete the second phase of filming.
The second phase of shooting took place mostly in and around the city of Belfast, from the first week of May 2021, and continued till the month of August of the same year. The shooting schedule eventually got extended. But thankfully, the production cost didn’t change much as the production members were able to negotiate a good deal.

The outdoor shots were captured near Vatnajokull National Park. However, some sequences were later filmed around a place located near the real lava fields and volcanoes. After these scenes were shot, the production members wrapped the first phase of shooting and moved to Northern Ireland.
The second phase of shooting took place in and around Northern Ireland during the first week of May 2021. Filming continued till the first week of August of the same year, and the production members captured a number of outdoor shots at various locations in Northern Ireland.
The Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves production members traveled to County Down in Northern Ireland. Several outdoor scenes were filmed near Clandeboye Estate, which is located in Bangor. The remaining sequences, on the other hand, were shot near Castle Ward, which is located in Strangford.
