I’m one of those people who will read articles on the filming location of popular thriller movies just so that I can add those places to my travel bucket list. Why? Because I intend to visit those places one day and get those main character vibes. Oh yeah, I really like to imagine myself as the protagonist of your cliche thriller movies–especially the ones involving being chased by a mass murderer. But, Entrapment (1999) is not your usual thriller film, it’s different. That’s why you must watch it. Oh, and apart from that you should also know where was Entrapment filmed. The Plot Of Entrapment | What Is Entrapment About?

The storyline of Entrapment revolves around the theft of a highly valuable piece of artwork, despite it being provided with all security measures. Frustrated at what happened and wanting to do something about it, an agent who works at an insurance company asks her employers to let her mix up with an aging master thief. 

The thief took in the new joinee but had reservations about her. So, he insists that she undergoes stringent training before they go on their first heist together. This time they will be robbing an extremely valuable mask from a highly secured place. 

But, the young agent and the old thief are quickly getting attracted to each other, and the feelings have just started to deepen, regardless of the complete lack of trust between them. This could really jeopardize their alliance. 

What keeps them going despite it all is the temptation and promise of a greater prize– a sum of eight billion dollars. This keeps the thriller romance film interesting.

Scotland

The Duart Castle, built in the 13-century and located on the Isle of Mull was also used as a filming location for this thriller movie. The castle is situated at the top of a cliff and overlooks the ever-so-stunning Scottish coastline. If you ever happen to be in Scotland, do NOT forget to visit The Duart Castle. 

Also, if you’re one of those people who dream about running around an almighty castle in a long flowy dress, The Duart Castle will make for the perfect location for that too. 

Located in Loch Duich, Eilean Donan Castle is another 13th-century castle in the Scottish Highlands. This castle is encircled by water on all sides and gives us captivating views of the Scottish Highlands. 

England

In England, the filmmakers selected the Albert R. Broccoli 007 Stage located in Pinewood Studios as a filming location for Entrapment. Named after the popular James Bond producer, this studio offers a very convincing replica of the Statue of Liberty. 

Apart from this, several scenes of Entrapment were filmed in Westminster and the City of London. 

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Have you seen the tallest twin buildings in the world? If not, you can spot them in Entrapment. The production unit of the film used The Petronas Towers as a part of the various filing locations. That’s why we get to see a stunning view of Kuala Lumpur. Also, this is the place where the last heist in the movie happens. 

Apart from The Petronas Towers, The Bukit Jalil Strain station, which is one of the biggest train stations in Malaysia was also a part of the movie. Numerous outdoor scenes in Entrapment were shot here. 

New York City, Manhattan, United States Of America

Entrapment was filmed in 1999, a time when The World Trade Center still existed. So, in the movie, we can see the complex comprising seven buildings in the movie. I’m glad this iconic location was chosen as a filming location, you know? It offers us a breathtaking view of Lower Manhattan, New York City.

One World Trade Center stands in place of the World Trade Center today.
