The Plot Of Kingdom | What Is Kingdom About?

Set in the Joseon period, the plot of Kingdom revolves around the life of Crown Prince Lee Chang. His father, the king, gets smallpox, and a rumor spreads that the king is dead. Following that, the prince has been labeled a traitor by the pregnant queen’s clan. 

As soon as the young Prince starts exploring the truth of his father’s condition– he discovers something much more wicked going on in the kingdom. He learns that their kingdom has started to get plagued by a zombie outbreak.

Changdeokgung Palace is located in the Jongno district. It was constructed in 1405 and has been designed beautifully. Remember the zombie apocalypse scene in Dongnae? The one where the bodies at Jiyulheon become zombies and ambush the village after dusk has fallen? It was shot in the Korean Folk Village in Yongin.

The scene of the passage of the high officials through Gwanghwamun Gate was filmed in Gyeongsangbuk-do. To be more specific, the scene was shot in the North Gyeongsang Province. 

Apart from this, Juheulgwan Gate was used to shoot a few scenes for the thriller show. Also, the horrific scene of zombies being taken away on a ship was shot in the Northern province, Buyongdae Cliff.
