The American action drama film, Road House 2 was released almost 17 years after its prequel Road House. This high-flying action movie is considered a worthy follow-up, by a large number of audiences. However, Scott Ziehl, was at the helm of affairs for this project, instead of Rowdy Herrington, who directed the first part.

The basic premise of Road House 2, follows the character of Shane Tanner, a DEA agent living in New York. The plot thickens when a couple of cruel gang members beat up Shane’s uncle. Shortly after, the lead actor travels to Louisiana and brings the criminals to justice.

After the project was announced, action movie fans ran high expectations for Road House 2. But sadly, this crime action film failed to become as successful as the first part. The critics and audiences were convinced by the overall on-screen performances of the actors but didn’t like the story as much.

We’ll definitely discuss the plot of this crime drama film later. But first, let’s find out where was Road House 2 filmed.

Where Was Road House 2 Filmed? Let’s Know This Crime Action Flick Closely!

The story of Road House 2 is set in parts of New York and Louisiana. However, you’d be surprised to know that the opening sequences of the movie, where we see the lead actor’s DEA office in New York, weren’t actually filmed in New York City.

In fact, none of the scenes were filmed in New York City. The entire filming of Road House 2 took place in and around the southern state of Louisiana. Scott took this decision mainly because the production budget of this project was too low to sustain filming in New York.

Moreover, as the director had to release the film by the end of 2006, the filming locations were kept to a bare minimum. The principal photography of Road House 2 commenced in August 2005.

Shooting continued for 4-5 weeks in Louisiana. Important to mention that the majority of the scenes were filmed in and around Shreveport. As per reports, even before the shooting began, the director asked a select number of cast members to attend physical training classes.

As Scott wanted to shoot the majority of the stunt scenes without the stunt doubles, he wanted to make sure the actors were in perfect physical condition to perform the same. Plus, the director also supervised the production members in arranging the necessary filming equipment and permissions.

Now, let’s take a closer look at where was Road House 2 filmed.

Shreveport, Louisiana | USA

Where Was Road House 2 Filmed? A Brilliant Action Movie Sequel!!

Shreveport is an Industrial city, which is located in the northwestern part of Louisiana. Apart from a number of automobile manufacturing facilities and production plants, this major city has a couple of Sci-Port Discovery Centres and beautiful Art Galleries.

The opening sequence of the movie, where we see the character of Shane inside his DEA office in New York, was actually filmed in the downtown area of Shreveport. The production members arranged a vacant building in this area and turned it around to look like a government office.

The interior scenes of Shane’s office were then captured. Also, the sequence where the lead actor finds out about the criminals, who manhandled his uncle, was also filmed in the same location.

Other important outdoor shots were filmed on the outskirts of Shreveport. The production members used a small-sized home to depict the hide-out of the criminals in Louisiana. The sequences depicting the liquor joint shown in the movie were also filmed around the same area.

Special shooting permission had to be acquired by the production members, before they could capture the sequences of the liquor-joint, inside a local bar in Shreveport. The filming crew captured some more sequences which were later processed inside a well-equipped studio in New Orleans.
