So, are you excited to find out where was School Spirits filmed? Then let’s get started!

Where Was School Spirits Filmed? Let’s Know This Paranormal Series Closely!

The story of School Spirits is set in America, specifically around the state of California. However, while choosing the filming location for this show, the makers had to choose a location that could fit into their production budget.

In other words, according to Megan and Nate’s initial research, they found out that the cost involved with shooting in California was pretty high. So in order to work around this major problem, the makers of School Spirits thought of exploring other filming locations in and around America, first.

But none of the scouted locations in America matched the requirements of the makers. They eventually decided to film the entire show in Canada, mainly to take advantage of the lucrative filming tax credit, offered by the Canadian government.

So, after a few weeks, the filming crew arrived in the province of British Columbia and scouted a bunch of potential shooting locations. The team finally decided to shoot the first season of School Spirits in and around the city of Vancouver.

Subsequently, the production members began the process of acquiring filming permissions. A separate was formed, to arrange the required logistics for shooting. Principal photography of School Spirits began in the second week of August last year and continued for 2 months.

As the weather gets pretty cold, during this time of the year in Canada, the production members paid close attention to the weather reports and planned their shoots around it. In fact, while filming the outdoor sequences of one of the episodes, the camera crew was stuck inside a cabin, due to a sudden blizzard.

But, thankfully none of the cast members or camera personnel were injured during this snowstorm. Shooting resumed after the storm cleared.

And now, let’s discuss in detail where was School Spirits filmed and know more about this awesome new series.

British Columbia | Canada

The opening sequence of the show, where we see the character of Maddie Nears, inside the Split River High School in America, was actually filmed in Vancouver. The production members filmed this sequence inside an actual public school, which is located on the outskirts of Vancouver.

In fact, all major sequences depicting the Split River High School in the show were filmed inside this same school. And it pretty much goes without saying that the production members had to acquire special shooting permission from the administrative board of the school.

A separate classroom was allotted to the production team, which was used to film the initial sequences depicting the classroom scenes.

Additional outdoor sequences of the show were filmed around the woods, which are located nearby to this school. Now, without disclosing much about the narrative of the show, I’ll only reveal that a particular episode depicting a horrible incident in the show was filmed inside the same woods.

Other important interior sequences of the show were filmed inside a well-equipped studio in Vancouver. The makers of School Spirits spent a huge amount of money in renting the best studio in Vancouver. The sequences that see the apparitions floating and hovering inside the premise of Split River High were rendered with the help of VFX and CGI.

So these were the details about the filming locations of School Spirits. Now, allow me to give you an overview of this series. Meanwhile, you can also read Emily The Criminal, The Fix, and The Contractor.
