After the cast members were selected by Vicky, she arranged a special meeting with other creative heads of the unit, to discuss the potential shooting locations for her film. At first, Vicky thought of shooting the majority of the outdoor sequences for her film, around the state of California.

But, after the other members of the unit advised her to shoot on location instead, she decided to go forward with it. The director then briefed the members of her team and asked them to scout for ideal filming locations in and around the state of Texas.

Soon, a number of potential shooting locations were scouted by the team. Vicky reviewed the filming locations and then asked the filming crew to begin shooting. The principal photography began in the second week of October 2018 and continued for 6 weeks or so.

The production members pre-arranged most of the logistics, in advance, which later helped them to stay on top of the filming dates. Besides minor issues, no major incidents took place on set, during the course of the shooting. The filming process was completed without any hassle.

The opening sequence of the film, where we see the character of Libby in a state of shock, after finding out about her husband’s death, was actually filmed in Texas. The production members used a small-sized house located in Houston to depict Libby’s husband’s home in California.

The production members then moved to the city of Austin. The sequences depicting the goat farm of Libby’s aunt were then captured inside a local farm in Austin. The production members had to take special shooting permission from the farm owners, to use the livestock for shooting.

Almost all the sequences depicting the new-found country life of Libby and her children were captured inside the same farm in Austin. The production members then traveled to other places in Texas, such as Wimberley, Round Top, and Driftwood, and captured beautiful outdoor sequences.

Then finally the filming crew arrived in the city of Hempstead, which is located 50 Miles south of Houston. The remaining interior sequences of the movie were then captured inside a famous studio located in the eastern part of Hempstead.
