In an attempt to fulfill his ambition Danny later decides to caddy for Judge Smails, who’s shown as the incharge of the caddy scholarship in the film. Soon after a new character emerges, named Al Czervik but is quickly ridiculed and mocked because of his slow appearance. Basically the newly acquired wealth and success of Czervik is looked down upon by other members.

Finally the golf tournament takes place, where Danny chooses to play alongside Czervik after being disrespected and threatened by Judge Smails. A neck-and-neck finish eventually renders Danny as the winner. Heavily praised by Czervik, the protagonist also receives his scholarship fee, as the movie ends.

Where Was Caddyshack Filmed? Let’s Know This Hysterical Movie Closely!!

Director Harold Ramis, in his first film, Caddyshack, struggled to find an ideal location for filming. As Ramis did not want to showcase the same old locations to the audience, and aspired of exploring a new location for filming.

Eventually the production team along with director Ramis, arrived at the conclusion to not film in Illinois, the location that is shown in the film. Instead they chose Florida and California as the perfect filming site for Caddyshack.

The principal photography commenced in September 1979 and was completed in a short span of 2 months! The logistics that were required to film at this location was specially transported on a private jet, which proved to propel the original filming schedule.

Florida, USA

Most of the sequences in the film which showcased the Bushwood Country Club in Illinois, were actually filmed in Rolling Hills Golf & Tennis Club at Davie in Florida. As most of the clubs refused their proposal, fearing loss of business and time.

At last the Rolling Hills Golf Club agreed to allow the crew to use their property for filming, considering they’ll finish the shooting in a couple of days. Plantation Country Club in Florida, also featured in one of the pool scenes.

Other outdoor scenes included filming the restaurant sequence where Danny meets Czervick, at Rusty Pelican Restaurant in Key Biscayne. Production then finally reached their final location in Florida, Fort Lauderdale, which was featured in the film portraying Danny’s winning celebration scene.

Located at Griffith Park this filming site was much more relaxed with the duration they allowed for shooting. Plus the production had ease of access to most of the parts in the city to arrange logistics.

Some other additional sequences in California were filmed at Hancock Park in Los Angeles and Woodland Hill Country Club.
