After getting sentenced to 32 hours of community service in the local hospital, he decides to get done with it quickly and leave.

While Ben wants to leave the town as soon as possible, the townspeople have other plans, and they want to replace him with the retiring doctor. The only thing that excites Ben in this town is a lovely ambulance driver named Lou (Julie Warner), who guides him through the town, and they slowly start to fall for each other. As he spends more time in the town with the people and Lou, he starts appreciating the slow-paced life and finds himself in love with the place.
