The story of Fractured is set in America. However, the director of this riveting movie decided to shoot the sequences elsewhere mainly because Brad Anderson didn’t have a pleasant experience while shooting his previous films in America.
Added to the fact that the production budget of Fractured couldn’t sustain filming in America. So, right at the beginning of this project, Anderson decided to shoot the outdoor sequences in and around a less expensive place.
So, after this decision was made, Anderson asked his team members to look for suitable filming locations in Canada and Mexico. Since the director didn’t approve of the overall setting of the latter option, the production members eventually had to film the entire movie in Canada.
The principal photography of Fractured commenced in the summer of 2018 and continued for 1 and a half months. During this time, the production members captured several outdoor scenes in and around the city of Winnipeg and Selkirk.
In fact, all other outdoor scenes of Fractured were filmed in and around the province of Manitoba as well. After these shots were captured, the production members moved to British Columbia. The remaining interior scenes of Fractured were then filmed inside a studio in Vancouver.

The shooting process of Fractured commenced in the province of Manitoba. This beautiful Canadian province is located near the western border of Ontario. The production members filmed the opening scene of the movie in the capital city of this province, Winnipeg.
A special vehicle mounted with different cameras was brought in by the crew from Toronto. The same vehicle was then used to shoot the sequence where Ray’s daughter fractures her arm while playing inside the car.
Other important scenes from the first half of the movie were filmed in and around the city of Winnipeg, after which the filming crew moved to the next shooting location.
The second half of the movie was shot in and around Selkirk. This gorgeous Canadian city is located 22 km northeast of Winnipeg, on the banks of the Red River. The sequence where the lead actor takes his daughter into the hospital for treatment was filmed in Selkirk.
The production members took special shooting permission from the authorities of a private hospital before shooting inside it. Special lighting equipment was used to film the scenes inside the hospital, which were brought in from Toronto by the crew.
The ending sequence of the film was shot in the city of Matlock. The production members took 4-5 days to capture the final sequence of the movie, after which they moved to British Columbia.
A special film studio located in the city of Vancouver was used to film the remaining scenes.
