After scouting several locations, the director conferred with other heads of the project, and finally decided to shoot this film in Massachusetts. But before the filming commenced, Lawrence visited the selected locations in person, to make sure the backdrop matched with the required setting for the movie.

The principal photography finally began, after everything was settled. The production members started filming in the first week of October 2021 and took 6-7 weeks to wrap up the entire shooting process. As there were only a handful of locations to film in, the production members managed to stay on top of the shooting schedule and pre-arranged most of the permissions.

Boston, Massachusetts | USA

The opening sequence of the movie, where we see the character of Frankie, visiting a veterinarian, was actually filmed inside a Canine Rescue Clinic Office in Boston. The production members had to acquire special shooting permission from the owners of the Pet Clinic, which is located in the southern part of Boston.

The interior sequence inside the Clinic, where Frankie is shown to adopt her dog, Tucker for the first time, was then captured. The production members made sure, to pay special attention, in not disturbing other pets while inside the Rescue Clinic.

Other pivotal sequences in Boston were captured around the downtown area of the city. The production members arranged a medium-sized house located near downtown Boston and captured the exterior shots of Frankie’s home. 

The production members had to work extra cautiously and had to select a house that was pet-friendly. Of course, the necessary permissions acquired from the owners of the property were documented well in advance to curb any confusion.

Additional outdoor sequences of the movie were captured near East Boston, after which the crew moved to the next shooting location.

Plymouth, Massachusetts | USA

After the production members completed capturing the sequences in various locations in Boston, the team moved to the town of Plymouth. The sequences in the movie where we see the character of Frankie, walking her dog, were all filmed in this closely-knitted town.

The production members captured some beautiful outdoor shots near the Pilgrim Memorial State Park and then moved to Plymouth Beach. The emotional ending sequence of the movie was then filmed near a sparsely-populated area, located near the beach.

Filming in Plymouth lasted for 3 weeks, the production members then wrapped the entire shooting process.
