The American dystopian series, Halo was released back in the summer of 2022, on Paramount +. This action-adventure show was primarily inspired from the famous FPS game, launched by Xbox Game Studios launched during the early 2000s. Kyle Killen and Steven Kane joined forces to make the overall story and concept of the show more interesting.

The basic premise of Halo is set in the future state of Earth, where a group of aliens attacks the planet, in order to seek control. However, the story gets interesting when the allied forces of the Earth join hands to fight against the common extra-terrestrial enemy.

The first season of Halo has a total of 9 intriguing episodes, in which the backstory of the characters is vividly depicted. The second season has recently premiered on Paramount +, with 2 mind-bending episodes. Halo has earned a number of nominations till date and won 4 major awards in total.

Where Was Halo Filmed? Let’s Know This Sci-FI Series Closely!

The makers of Halo initially decided to shoot the pilot season of the show in Australia. However, after reviewing the production budget, the makers changed their decision and started looking for other options.

Kyle and Steven then instructed the production members to scout for various filming locations in America and Canada. Important to mention that, almost all the sequences of the show were filmed inside a studio using CGI and VFX. Thus, choosing the best filming studio within the production budget was the main ordeal.

So, after several weeks the production members submitted the list of well-equipped studios in Canada and America, to the makers. Kyle and Steven reviewed the infrastructure of the studio and then asked the production members to commence filming in Ontario, Canada.

A major issue resulted in the makers losing a considerable chunk of the production budget. The principal photography commenced inside one of the major studios, located in Ontario. But soon after a couple of episodes were shot, the Canadian government forced the makers to shut down the entire filming process, because of Covid-19.

However, later when the travel restrictions were uplifted and everything came back to normal, the makers decided to shoot the series elsewhere. Steven and Kyle arranged a special meeting with other heads of the unit and concluded to film Halo in Hungary.

Shooting finally commenced in the summer of 2020 and continued for several months. Important to mention that, both seasons of the show were captured and devolved in Hungary. Reportedly, after a big production company decided to back the project, there were no issues with the filming budget.

Now, let’s discuss where was Halo filmed in-depth, and check out the filming locations in Hungary.

Thus, the production members didn’t face any major issues, while transporting the required logistics.

Filming for the first season of the show continued for several months, after which the production members returned to America. The second season of Halo was filmed inside the same studio in Hungary, which almost took the same amount of time to complete as the pilot season.
