You might think that the shooting of Not Cinderellas Type was done in California. But in that case, you’d be making a wrong assumption. Even though the story of this film is set in this beautiful state, the actual filming was done elsewhere.

When Brian and other creative heads of the unit were looking for ideal filming locations, they first thought of searching in California. But, later, Brian decided to take a different route and choose a shooting location that is basically uncommon and not often used by other filmmakers.

So, after a couple of days, Brian and his team reviewed the total shooting budget and then started looking for potential filming locations around the western part of America. Soon, the production members were able to identify a number of locations in and around the state of Utah.

The principal photography of Not Cinderellas Type began in the third week of October 2017 and continued until the first week of November, of the same year. During the entire course of filming, the production members traveled around Salt Lake City.

In fact, the majority of the outdoor scenes of this film were shot in and around Salt Lake City. However, the interior scenes of Not Cinderellas Type were filmed inside a famous studio located in a different city in Utah.

The entire shooting process lasted for one and a half months. The production members didn’t face any major issues during the shooting process. But, while the crew was shooting the outdoor scenes of Not Cinderellas Type in the downtown area of Salt Lake City, they faced some problems while acquiring the shooting permit.

The production members weren’t required to make any changes to the decor of the house, as the director preferred it to be really minimalistic.

The scenes depicting Indy’s high school were filmed inside of a public school in Salt Lake City. Special shooting permissions had to be taken from the authorities of the school before capturing the scenes inside the classrooms.

Additional outdoor scenes were captured in and around Salt Lake City. The scene where we see the character of Indy meeting with the man of her dreams was filmed near Tracy Aviary & Botanical Gardens.

After all the scenes were shot, the production moved to another city in Utah and captured the remaining scenes. By the first week of November 2017, the entire filming process of Not Cinderellas Type ended.
