That’s not it, the city is soaked in western culture, which gives it the nickname ‘cowtown.’ Also, this city is perfect for spending vacations. That’s because it offers endless activities like exploring indigenous lands, heritage parks, and various festivals.

The makers decided to shoot the film in Calgary because of its diverse cultures and indigenous land. Other than this, they found Calgary perfect to film the outdoor scenes. And the reason behind this was the natural light. The makers were mesmerized by this place.

Because the movie’s plotline demanded an indigenous location, the makers thought nothing could be more perfect than Stoney Nakoda First Nation. Also, it was a new experience for the makers to film on indigenous land. After all, they learned a lot about indigenous culture!

The Elbow river flows in the southern part of Alberta from the Canadian Rockies to Calgary city. After reaching Calgary, this river merges with the Bow River. Unfortunately, you cannot dive in the river because the water is no longer fit for swimming. Furthermore, there are some tributaries of this river with similar beauty.

Filming on and around Elbow river was quite challenging for the makers. Of course, the production team was not experienced in filming scenes on and around a river. But somehow, the team fought against all the odds and wrapped up the movie’s filming on time.
