Where Was Romantic Rewrite Filmed? Let’s Know This Intense Drama Flick Closely!

The makers of Romantic Rewrite originally wanted to shoot the film in California. But, after several weeks, the makers reviewed the filming budget and found out that it was insufficient to support filming in California.

The director then asked the production members to scout various filming locations on and around the East Coast. Several potential shooting locations were scouted, but Damian decided to shoot his entire film in various locations in Florida. 

Romay then instructed the screenwriters to adjust the premise of the movie accordingly, after which he asked the production members to begin filming. Important to mention that, the majority of the outdoor sequences of the film were captured in and around the beautiful city of Miami. While most of the pivotal interior sequences were shot inside a studio located in the city of Orlando.

The principal photography commenced in the third week of October last year and continued till the second week of November 2022. The filming schedule remained unchanged, as the production members managed to stay on top of the shooting dates.

The required shooting permissions along with the logistics were arranged by the crew, well in advance. This resulted in the shooting schedule remaining as planned and eventually saved a lot of time and filming budget.

Miami, Florida | USA

The opening sequence of the movie, where we see the female lead editing a novel, inside her family home, was actually filmed in the city of Miami. This beautiful coastal city is an integral part of Miami-Dade County. Plus, it’s also the second most populous city in Florida, which makes it a melting pot of different cultures from around the world.

So, in order to capture the exterior shots of Ivy’s family home, the production members arranged a medium-sized house, located near Miami Beach. No major changes were made to the overall structure of the property, as it was perfect to depict a cute and modern-styled home.

Other pivotal sequences in Miami were captured by Bayside Marketplace and Wynwood Walls. The scenes where we see the lead actor and the novice writer meeting for the first time were captured inside a commercial building located near Bayside Marketplace. In fact, all the outdoor sequences of the publishing company were captured around the same location.

The production members then moved to an area near the famous Bayfront Park in Miami. The sequences depicting the wedding of Ivy’s close relative shown in the movie were captured here. The production members had to acquire special shooting permission, before filming in this posh location in Miami.

Additional outdoor sequences of the movie were captured near Venetian Pool and Lincoln Road. The production members then moved to the next shooting location.

Orlando, Florida | USA

The production members then finally arrived in the city of Orlando to capture the remaining sequences of the movie. Although no outdoor sequences were shot in this city. The production members only shot the interior scenes inside a well-equipped studio in Orlando.

Filming in Orlando only lasted for two weeks or so, after which the entire filming process ended.

The story of Romantic Rewrite follows the character of Ivy Roberts, who is a talented editor of a famous American publishing company. At the very beginning of the film, the female lead gets the task to train an amateur mystery novel author to write romantic novels.
