Captain Nathan Brittles is being assisted by Lt. Flint Cohill and Lt. Riss Pennell. They are two of the youngest officers in the company. And they have also formed an infatuation with the beautiful Olivia Dandridge. 

Lt. Cohill ends up winning Olivia’s heart. And the two of them get engaged discreetly. Olivia starts wearing a yellow ribbon in her hair. Even though she doesn’t want to reveal the identity of the man she’s engaged to, the ribbon is a mark that her beau is from the Cavalry.
