The production members used a vacant medical facility located on the outskirts of L.A. and filmed the sequences depicting the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Centre of Pasadena.

Major changes had to be made to the medical facility, as the director wanted to give a modern and abstract look. Thus the crew had to paint the walls of the Therapy Centre in soothing shades to match the required setting.

The hysterical sequences showcasing the meeting of Jimmy’s clients were all filmed inside this property, Other pivotal sequences of the show were filmed around the downtown area of Los Angeles. The outdoor scenes showcasing Jimmy’s family home in Pasadena were actually filmed outside of a medium-sized house in Los Angeles.

Additional outdoor sequences, where we see the funeral of Jimmy’s wife, were actually filmed inside the premise of an old cemetery in Los Angeles. But all the major interior sequences of the show were captured inside a well-equipped studio located outside of Los Angeles, specifically in Culver City.
