Invincible, a comic book series written and illustrated by Robert Kirkman, chronicles the exploits of Mark Grayson as he works to control his recently discovered superpowers. Mark is supposed to be Invincible because he is the son of Omni-Man, the strongest protector on Earth. Mark’s true power lies in his invincibility and perseverance, even though he isn’t as skillful as his father and can take a beating.

After his horrific battle with Mark, Omni-Man has vanished, leaving Invincible and the newly formed Guardians of the Globe to defend the people of Earth (not to be confused with Urath). Invincible‘s first season chronicles Mark’s coming-of-age adventure while revealing the startling truth about his father’s true character and ancestry.

Mark will be followed in Season 2 as he continues to put the pieces together. The blood, guts, and thrilling action that made the first season so engrossing for so many people will undoubtedly return in greater amounts in the second. That isn’t all Season 2 will contain, though. According to Kirkman, the series will address the multiverse like that of the comics.

What Is The Comic Background Of Invincible?

As previously stated, Robert Kirkman created the original comic book series Invincible, illustrated by Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. Published by Image Comics, the series lasted for 144 issues, ending its tale between 2003 and 2018.

As the series’ only writer, Kirkman is actively contributing to the franchise’s growth with the animated series on Prime Video and the live-action movie being developed. The animated series and the comic book Invincible are slightly different. The program has more blood and graphic violence, but the storylines are the same, even though the events are presented in a different order.
