The production budget of Deadpool was north of $58 million. So the makers weren’t particularly concerned about the film budget. However, they had major challenges in acquiring filming permission in New York.

So, after a couple of weeks, the makers eventually decided to shoot the entire film in Canada and asked the filming crew to scout for ideal shooting locations. The team members finalized several beautiful filming locations in and around the city of Vancouver. 

Although, it’s equally important to mention that some portions of the film were later filmed in other parts of the British Columbia province. The principal photography of Deadpool began in the fourth week of March 2015 and continued till the end of May of the same year.

As per reports, the shooting process went on smoothly, without any noticeable challenges as such. The minor issues which occurred from time to time were mostly handled by the filming crew. The shooting schedule remained intact till the last phase of filming.

Other important sequences of the movie were shot inside a local bar. The sequences depicting Wade’s favorite booze joint were filmed in a bar near Chinatown, Vancouver.

Additional pivotal scenes in Vancouver were shot near 205 Main St and Royal Roads University. The production members had to acquire special shooting permission before filming inside this Public University, which is located at 2005 Sooke Rd.

After filming most of the outdoor sequences around different locations in Vancouver, the production members moved to the next shooting locations.

The remaining scenes, such as the sequence where Wade is wheeled through the tunnel to Ajax’s lab, were filmed near Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam. Some more scenes were captured in the city of Victoria before the shooting process ended.
