Where Was Jaws 2 Filmed? Let’s Know This Bone-Chilling Flick Closely!

The making of Jaws 2 wasn’t a smooth sail for the makers, at all. During the initial stages of production, John D. Hancock joined this project as the director. Although, after Hancock couldn’t manage with what he had, he was politely asked to leave the project.

This incident delayed the filming schedule right from the start and made the situation much harder for Jeannot Szwarc after he joined the project. Szwarc then arranged a special meeting with the other creative heads of the unit and attempted to resolve the standing issues.

A special team, consisting of 4 members were then tasked to search for ideal filming locations in and around America. After a few days, the team came up with a bunch of locations from the West Coast and submitted the list to the new director.

Szwarc selected a few potential filming sites in Florida and later decided to add a few locations from the state of Massachusetts as well. Important to mention that, the majority of the shooting took place in and around the state of Massachusetts, while only a handful of pivotal sequences were filmed in Florida.

The production members drafted a new filming schedule and commenced the principal photography in the first week of August 1977. Filming continued till the end of November of the same year, without any major disruptions in between.

So, without waiting any longer, let’s discuss where was Jaws 2 filmed in-depth, and find out more about the specific shooting sites.
