Sofia | Bulgaria
The opening sequence of the movie, where we see one of the characters being held in captivity by a group of terrorists, was filmed in Bulgaria. In order to film this intense scene, the production members had to arrange a shabby-looking building located on the outskirts of Sofia.
After making minor changes to the property, the interior sequences of the hostage situation were then captured. Special lighting equipment was used to film this particular sequence, to counter the ambient lighting of the area.
The production members filmed a few more pivotal outdoor sequences across the city of Bulgaria and then returned back to England.
London | England
As mentioned, the majority of the shooting of Survivor took place in London. Thus, right after the crew returned from Bulgaria, they immediately started filming. The interior sequence of the cafe was captured inside Shepherdess Cafe, located at 221 City Road, London.
A medium-sized apartment located at Mary Ward Centre, 42 Queen Square was used to depict the abode of Talbot in the film. All the necessary filming permissions were pre-arranged, which helped the team to shoot the interior sequences of the lead actor’s home in no time.
