 The opening sequence from the first episode of Julie and the Phantoms, where we see the character of Julie interacting with her friends inside her home, was actually filmed in Vancouver. The production members took special shooting permission from the owners of the medium-sized house, which was located on the outskirts of Vancouver.

Special lighting equipment was installed around various parts of the property, in order to capture the exterior sequences of Julie’s home during the night. Sequences from the other episodes depicting the existence of the friendly apparitions, who later help the female lead, were also filmed inside the same property.

The production members then traveled to a sparsely located area in Vancouver and filmed the sequences depicting the first musical show of Julie. The production members actually consulted with skilled musicians and sound engineers before setting up the stage for Julie’s concert. Special musical instruments such as Cello and Trombone were brought in to capture the sequences depicting the Jazz session in the show.

After the majority of the outdoor sequences of the show were filmed, the production members moved to the city of Burnaby. A number of filmmakers, over the years, have used the sound stages of this studio, to recreate several interesting scenes for their films and shows. Filming for the first season of  Julie and the Phantoms only lasted for a couple of weeks in Canada. After the filming process ended, the production members returned to America and began working on the promotion of the show.
