The renowned Celtic Studios, located in the heart of the city, was used by the crew to construct a set. 

The interior scenes of Everett Campbell’s home were filmed here, using one of the well-equipped sound stages. Other exterior shots in Baton Rouge, were captured near Old Louisiana State Capitol and Magnolia Mound, after which the crew wrapped up the shooting, and moved to the state of California and began working on post-production.

The central story of the film revolves around the character of Campbell, a young and cheerful girl in her late twenties. The female lead is shown to live all by herself in Dallas, working as a tax consultant in a finance company.

Soon after, learning about the present living situation of Bruce, she expresses her desire to meet him during Christmas.

Midway through the film, Campbell reaches the city of Baton Rouge in Louisiana. Campbell musters up the courage and finally meets her father, although she refrains from disclosing her real name. The story takes a dramatic turn when Everett finds out about the actual identity of Campbell.
