So, unlike most other famous Hallmark movies, Sullivan asked the production members to scout for potential shooting locations around the mid-western states of America. The production members subsequently scouted through various states located in the western region.

After a few weeks, the filming crew submitted the list of scouted locations to Sullivan. The director then visited the shooting locations in person and eventually decided to shoot the entire film in Utah.

The principal photography began in the first week of March 2016 and continued till the second week of April of the same year. Important to mention that all the major sequences of the movie were specifically filmed in and around Park City, Utah. 

The production members didn’t face any major challenges during the filming process. However, the shooting schedule got delayed due to undisclosed reasons. This incident caused the production budget to increase.

The production members also traveled to Salt Lake City in Utah, towards the final stages of shooting. The final sequence of the movie was reportedly filmed in Salt Lake City, after which the crew moved to the next shooting location.

After all, the outdoor scenes of the movie were shot in Park City and Salt Lake City. The production members filmed the interior sequences of the movie inside a well-equipped studio in California. Particularly the sequences depicting the abode of Prince Collin in Greenbriar were filmed inside this studio.

The basic premise of My Summer Prince revolves around the character of Mandy Cooper, a young American woman who worked in a PR firm. At the very beginning of the film, the female lead gets an opportunity to travel to Idaho for a special event.
