Where Was Triptych Filmed? Let’s Know This Crime Drama Series!
As you already know, the premise of Triptych is set in Mexico City. I think you’d be surprised to know that the shooting of this series also took place entirely in the capital of Mexico as well. The production members scouted suitable filming locations in this city, during the initial stage of pre-production.
But when Leonardo and his team arrived in the capital city of Mexico, they reportedly had a hard time finding the best spot for shooting. As per reports, when the production members visited a certain impoverished area of Mexico City, they encountered a number of local gang members.
Thankfully, before the situation could escalate, the production team deftly escaped from the site. Later, Leonardo and his team decided to film those sequences inside a studio, instead of trying to jeopardize their lives for the second time.
Other than that, other filming locations which were scouted by the team, were approved by the director for shooting. Leonardo, checked the filming locations closely and then asked the production members to commence filming.
The principal photography of Triptych began in the first month of 2022 and continued for several months. During the shooting process, the production members ran into one problem after the other.
The original shooting schedule, which was supposed to be not more than 3 months, got extended, which eventually bumped the production budget. But thankfully, the scenes came out absolutely breathtaking, and Leonardo was satisfied with the quality of the shots as well.
Mexico City | Mexico
The opening sequence of the show, where we see the character of Becca for the first time, was filmed inside a medium-sized house, located in Mexico City. The production members took special shooting permission from the owners, before making structural changes to the property.
The room in which Becca is shown to live was turned around to give a more minimalistic look. Other than that, no other fixtures were removed from other areas of the house. The production members also installed special lighting equipment, to capture the exterior shots of the house at night.
Other important outdoor sequences of the show were filmed inside a commercial building, located near Plaza de la Constitución. This place was actually turned around to look like the Mexican government facility, where the female lead carried out her forensic experiments.
In fact, the sequences where other investigators report to Becca with regard to the murder case, that they were solving, were also filmed inside the same property.
But in order to film the sequences of the actual crime scene, the production members traveled to the exterior part of Mexico City. The scene where Becca discovers the cadaver of the victim was filmed near a sparsely populated area, specifically located near Ixtapaluca.
Then finally, the production members returned to the downtown area of Mexico City. The remaining interior scenes were captured inside a well-known studio in Mexico.
So, if you’re planning to visit Mexico in the near future, then you can look up Palacio de Bellas Artes, Bosque de Chapultepec, and Museo Nacional de Antropología. These are some of the most sought-after places in Mexico City, which you shouldn’t miss out, on should you choose to visit there.
Let us now take a closer look at the plot of Triptych. In the meantime, you can also check out Venom 2, Chicken Nugget, and Connect too.
