Where Was Everest Filmed? Let’s Know This Action Adventure Flick Closely!
The principal photography of Everest began in the second week of January 2013. The majority of the sequences of this brilliant film were captured in and around the beautiful country of Nepal. However, before the shooting began, the makers of this project weren’t sure about the filming locations.
During the initial days of pre-productions, a few creative heads of the unit suggested the director shoot the pivotal outdoor sequences of the snow-peaked mountains, near the French Alps. Baltasar too was intrigued to work on the same idea, initially, but later when the production members arranged a special meeting, the director changed his former decision.
Baltasar conferred with other members of his team, and arrived at the final conclusion, to shoot on location. He then selected a few members from the team, sent them to Nepal, and asked them to scout for ideal shooting locations.
Later, the director decided to shoot some pivotal sequences of the movie, around Italy and the UK as well.
As mentioned before, the shooting began in the first month of 2013 and continued for several months. The shooting schedule was slightly delayed, for a number of reasons. But, the production members managed to complete shooting closer to the estimated original timeline.

Nepal
The opening breathtaking sequence of the movie, where we see a pilot gliding between the jagged Nepalese valleys, was actually filmed in Nepal. The production members arranged a well-equipped glider from the Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu.
The outdoor scenes, where we see the daring group of climbers from New Zealand, arriving in Nepal for the first time, were also captured near the same airport. Other pivotal sequences where we see the lead characters exploring the capital of Nepal, were captured around the market area of Kathmandu.
The production members also arranged an authentic Nepalese boarding home, to capture the interior sequences showcasing the living arrangement of the climbers. The filming crew then moved to the next shooting location in Nepal.
The enthralling sequence of the film, where we see the climbers boarding a small airplane, along with the sherpas to reach the base camp of Mt. Everest, was shot in Lukla. The production members took special shooting permission from the authorities of the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, before filming the outdoor scenes on the runway.
Then finally, the scenes where we see the group of climbers, reaching the base-camp, were actually filmed on location. The production members transported the majority of the logistics to the South Base Camp of Mt. Everest, before filming there.
Additional sequences were captured around the South Base Camp area. The production members used special drones to capture aerial shots of Mt. Everest. The shooting lasted for a week or so, after which the production members along with the ensemble cast had to descend, because of bad weather.
Other Filming Locations
The remaining sequences of the movie were captured inside two world-renowned studios. The filming crew used the Pinewood Studios, located in the village of Iver Heath, UK, and morphed the outdoor scenes using VFX and CGI. The remaining interior sequences of the movie were perfected inside Cinecitta Studios in Italy.

Plot Of Everest | What’s It About
The basic premise of Everest centers around a group of daring mountain climbers from New Zealand, who wanted to ascend Mt. Everest in 1996. At the very beginning of the film, the character of Rob Hall, the team leader of the kiwi climbers, is shown to brief his team about the next expedition.
As the story progresses further, the team departs from New Zealand and arrives in the capital of Nepal. The next morning, Rob along with his team, board a chartered flight and head straight towards the base camp of Mt. Everest. Watch Everest to find out what happens when, Rob and his team reach the death zone of the mountain, and run out of oxygen supply.
