Craig starts high school and Mr. Harrigan has been by him throughout. During this time, Craig is bullied by a guy named Kenny but his teacher Ms. Hart comes to his aid. One day things change as Craig wins a lottery given to him by Mr. Harrigan and he gets both of them iPhones. While Mr. Harrigan is anti-tech at first, he slowly warms up and begins to like this new change in his life.

Things aren’t meant to last forever and one day, out of nowhere Mr. Harrigan passes away suddenly. Leaving Craig heartbroken over the loss of his best friend. During the funeral, Craig slides his phone into the suit of Mr. Harrigan and then weird things start to happen. He starts receiving texts from Mr. Harrigan’s number and things he asks for on-call, happen in real life. These spooky events take a serious turn as Kennedy dies after severely bullying Craig one day.

Pretty much all of the filmings for the movie took place in Fairfield County. The small town of Fairfield isn’t a tourist place by any means but there are tons of things to do. One of the most important locations in Mr. Harrigan’s Phone is his mysterious and empty mansion. 

The filming for the mansion has been done at the Lockwood-Matthews Mansion Museum in Matthews Park, West Avenue in Fairfield. The books, the historic paintings, and all the infrastructure have been standing for well over a century. With the building declared a national landmark by the US govt, filming for the movie here was once in a lifetime opportunity.

Not only do the interiors feature extensively in the movie but the exteriors too. The outdoor balcony, as well as the exteriors of the mansion, feature heavily in the movie and are the real deal.

While the major portion of filming was done in Fairfield, a few scenes of the movie were shot in Litchfield County too. More specifically the area Barkhamsted, where filming was done on the West River Road.
