So, after working on the screenplay and making it more captivating, the director asked the production members to scout for idyllic filming locations in and around the province of British Columbia.

Soon, the team came up with a list of potential shooting locations around the cities of Vancouver and Victoria. Paul selected a few and decided to shoot the majority of the sequences in Vancouver, and the remaining scenes in Victoria.

The principal photography commenced in the early months of 2021 and continued for 8 weeks. The filming schedule was reportedly delayed, due to snowstorms and overall bad weather. However, for the most part, the crew managed to capture the sequences within the estimated timeline and stayed on top of the schedule.

The opening sequence of the film, where we see the character of Sally for the first time, was actually filmed inside an apartment located in Vancouver. The production members arranged a small-sized apartment, located near the downtown area of Vancouver, to shoot the interior sequences of Sally’s home.

A vacant shop, located near the business center of the city, was turned around by the crew to look like a BBQ joint. The sequences depicting Sally’s family restaurant were filmed here. A considerable amount of time was spent turning around the shop. 

Other pivotal sequences in Vancouver, were mostly filmed on the outskirts of the city. The sequences where the female lead is shown going for long rides, all by herself, were filmed there.

Filming in Vancouver lasted for 5 weeks, after which the production members moved to the next shooting location.

Victoria, British Columbia | Canada

After capturing the majority of the outdoor sequences in Vancouver, the production members had to stop shooting for some days. The bad weather restricted the travel plans of the production members.

Then, finally, after arriving in the city of Victoria, the shooting began. The sequences depicting the office of the film director, Luke, were captured inside a building located in downtown Victoria.

The scene where the female lead meets Luke for the first time was captured at the famous Carlton Gardens. The production members then moved to a place located near Great Ocean Road and captured the ending sequence of the movie.
