So, after reviewing the production budget, the Skye’s arrived at the final conclusion to shoot their film, in Georgia. The entire filming specifically took place in and around the beautiful town of Hiawassee.

But, before the production members could commence shooting in this Georgian town, the unit ran into a major problem. One of the main actors in the movie had to leave the project in the middle, which forced the makers to find a replacement. 

Luckily, the casting crew quickly got the word out and auditioned a number of talented actors. Thus, after the new artists onboarded the project, the Skye’s instructed the crew to begin filming.

The principal photography began in the summer of 2019 and was completed within 4 weeks. As the filming locations were considerably fewer, the crew managed to stay on top of the shooting dates. The filming schedule remained unchanged, for the most part.

The opening scene of the film, where we see the female lead sitting and pondering over her past on the bank of a river, was filmed in Hiawassee. The production members used to special lighting equipment to capture this breath-taking on the banks of the Hiawassee river, during dusk.

Other pivotal sequences were filmed in and around Towns County. The production members had to construct the wooden house of Lemon, within a week’s time. Thankfully, all the necessary logistics were pre-arranged by the crew, which made the tedious task a little easier.

The sequences of the forest shown in the movie were filmed inside Fred Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens. The production members then moved near the Chatuge Lake in Hiawassee to capture the emotional final sequence of the movie.

The story of The Devil to Pay revolves around the character of Lemon Cassidy, a strong and independent mother, who goes to all lengths to save her son. At the very beginning of the film, the female lead laments over the disappearance of her loving husband.
